My fingers have been so busy, creating new items for my shop. I've added new hats, cocoons, bowls, sometimes called eggs, blankets and diaper covers for either photo props or for you to use with that new baby.
This is my absolute favorite hat I've made. It reminds me of rainbow sherbet.

I've also added some cocoons and bowls that babies would lokk so cute in.

In addition to these, I have the cutest diaper covers with flowers for girls and big buttons for boys. They can be done in sizes other than for newborns. Let me know if you'd like one in a different color.
During April I'm giving FREE SHIPPING in continental US on all items. Great deals.
As for the rest of my week, I took my 7 month old grandson to swimming class. Oh what fun. He just loved the water and splashing around. I can't wait till summer so that we can play outside and splash in the kids pool (you've all had the blue plastic thing) in the back yard.
I'm going to try and make some cute Easter cut out cookies tomorrow with Lucy, our 2 yr old grandaughter. She loves to help in the kitchen. I think she likes the sprinkles more than the cookies. Last week she came over as I was crocheting and asked "What are you making now?" I thought that was pretty funny. She loves the yarn and all the hats and says they are "butifull" and "pretty". Maybe I have a budding crafter in the making.
Well, signing off for tonite and hope everyone has a good evening.

Hopefully, this blog will offer some insight to me and my life. You may find me rambling on about some topic, maybe about growing up in a steeltown, or even offering advice for new parents, new grandparents, old friends and new hobbies. Just join in and comment if you want.

If you're looking for some really cute items, if I say so myself, check out my items for sale at my online site. As some of you know, I've been quilting and sewing for many, many, years and my daughters finally convinced me that I should sell my items online. I've done consignment to gift shops and sold at craft shows, but this is all so new to me. Well, in December, I decided to give it a try.
So here's my site. I'll post pictures of more items tomorrow. As always, thanks for viewing.

Fabric Give Away
One of my etsy team members has a great give-away on her blog. Go check it out if you love fabric.
http://jillyshappyquilts.blogspot.com/2011/03/fat-quarter-bundle-giveaway.html
As most of you know, I could give away fabric and still die with the most. LOL. My girls will tell you that they don't know what I'm doing with it all. I'll need to see about putting together a giveaway and figure out how this works. Note to self....send e-mail to jilly and ask her. Duh.
Well, I need to do a few more things before days end.
Have a good evening

It's Tuesday
Good Morning everyone. It has sure been one busy weekend. We celebrated the 2nd birthday of our granddaughter, had the grandson overnite, and then back to work on Monday. I hardly had time to do much of anything. But it was a great weekend. I can't wait for the weather to break so that we can get back up to our property in the mountains. This was a picture from last summer looking at the creek and the bridge.
Cooked a great dinner on Sunday....Eye of Round Roast with carrots and gravy, baked red skin potatoes, and corn. OK girls, ask dad. The roast was GREAT. Really. Inside joke everyone, the girls hate, and I do mean hate, roasts. I wasn't very good at cooking them when they were little and they hated gravy, so go figure. Tough and dry. Age improved my ability to cook and so it goes. My roast was great.
Some updates. My website if finished and up and running. http://www.nrbdesigns.com/
There is a great give-a-way on one of my fellow etsy sellers blog. The Dishclothshoppe has a TLC Notecard set to give away. Just follow the directions on her blog. http://thedishclothshoppe.blogspot.com/2011/03/great-giveaway-tlc-cards-note-card-set.html
I've been crocheting up a storm. My newest items will be crocheted hats for newborns. You can see the patterns that I've purchased from the etsy seller's site http://www.illbeyarned.etsy.com/
She has such great patterns and I'm working on her newborn hats and the cocoons. Can't wait to take pictures and get them posted. Really soft cotton yarns that are perfect for that summer newborn and I created a so cute watermelon beanie.
Well, signing off for now. Have a great day everyone.

Dinner guests
This is one of the days that I love. I get to watch my two precious grandchildren. A soon to be 2 year old girl and a 6 month old boy. This really keeps me stepping. I'm trying the potty training on the 2 year old and working on the rolling over for the 6 month old. Oh how funny this is. Remembering that 30 years ago I was in just about the same situation, but 30 YEARS YOUNGER.
So here's how today went.
I tried to crochet a few more of the newborn hats.....didn't happen.
I needed to clean up the kitchen and do dishes........didn't happen.
Talked to a friend from Pa........YES, but only for a few minutes since it was time for 2 year old to eat.
Really needed to cut some fabric.....today's not over yet.
Plans for dinner......2 year old decided she wanted to stay and eat so leftover spaghetti is always good.
Shopping for birthday gifts....putting that off till tomorrow evening.
And I wouldn't change any part of my day. As my mom always said, dirt will always be there, babies grow up too quickly. Play with them when you can. So tonight I'll clean up the kitchen, do the dishes, cut out a small tote bag, heat up the spaghetti she left, make my shopping list, call my friend back, and probably crochet a few hats.
And, oh by the way, I get to do this again tomorrow. I am so lucky. Thanks kids for giving us the chance to do to you what Gramma Rose and Pap Pap did to us. Love ya.

The end of a great day.
This was a great day. It started out with getting my to do list at work finished in the morning. That was just the start. As the lunchtime approached, I found myself wondering if I should go out or just eat my lunch that I brought. Good thing I stayed in. I spent some time getting caught up on e-mails and checking my bank account and YIPEEE. My Paypal account showed a deposit that I wasn't expecting. I had 2 sales on my relatively new ETSY site. This was totally unexpected. How exciting!! I've been trying out different ways to promote my site, Facebook, different teams on ETSY, and now this blog. I've re-listed a few items and maybe that triggered something, but I'm not questioning why or how. Just keep on coming. Visit me at http://www.nrbdesigns.etsy.com/
After work, I picked up a dinner for a set of new parents that are very close friends of our family and spent some precious time just holding their new baby boy. Only a few days old, he was so tiny and soft and sweet. But before they know it, he'll be running around, chasing all the girls in the neighborhood, kicking a soccer ball at the house, practicing his shots, and just being the typical boy. But for now, enjoy holding him as much as you want.
I'd post a picture, but not without their permission so until then, all you get is one of my quilts with no baby.
